Salix hastata 'Wehrhahnii'

This is a small, deciduous variety with erect branches and a rounded, spreading growth habit. It bears masses of narrow, silvery-green, showy male catkins which are produced between April and May. These are borne on purplish-brown shoots and give the effect of the branches being covered in icicles. It has a compact, rounded growth habit and forms a mass of ovate, grayish-green leaves which are slightly toothed at the edges.
