More drought tolerant than other Rudbeckias, fulgida var. deamii is an excellent addition to any prairie, natural or cottage garden planting scheme. It produces masses of yellow daisy-like flowers in late summer to mid autumn, which are complimented by its oval, dark green hairy leaves. Much loved by bees and butterflies.
It is excellent for growing in bold drifts between other perennials and ornamental grasses or planting ‘en masse’ in large groups. The long flowering stems also make it a great choice for using as cut flowers, particularly as the blooms remain looking fresh for a long time in a vase.
