Redcurrant - Ribes rubrum 'Red Lake'
This is an excellent deciduous variety which bears an abundance of large, well flavoured berries on long trusses between July and August. It is a small bush with mid-green foliage and a spreading growth habit, producing fruits equally well in full sun or partial shade.
Like blackcurrants and gooseberries, it can be trained into any desired shape or size such as a fan, espalier, cordon or standard, or just allowed to grow as a normal bush.
