This is an extremely tough and hardy, evergreen shrub that can tolerate a wide range of demanding conditions, including shaded and exposed positions. It has an upright growth habit and forms dense, thorny, mid-green foliage.
This variety of Pyracantha is covered in clusters of tiny white flowers in summer, and in August it produces masses of profuse, bright red berries which last through autumn and well into the winter, providing an excellent food source for garden wildlife. It makes an attractive freestanding shrub but due to its thorny nature it can also be used to provide intruder-proof hedging or for training up a wall.
