Mentha Aquatica

(Water Mint)

Back to Herbs

Mentha Aquatica
A vigorously spreading perennial with long creeping runners like common garden mint. Its flowers are densely packed, lilac in colour, and very attractive to flying pond insects. The aromatic foliage can be used in the same way as other mints.
Prefers to be grown in permanently wet ground usually a little way back from the water’s edge. Sensitive to too much foot traffic, as it tramples easily.
